If you have reached a point where you are considering counseling, you are no doubt a courageous soul. You may have encountered an impasse in your efforts to resolve a recurring problem, or you have been blindsided by a loss. You could be dealing with trauma, or intense emotions that wipe you out. Whatever your reason, I imagine you have utilized your best resources and are now tired, overwhelmed, or in too much pain to keep going on your own. If this describes you, there is hope.
In my work, I seek to provide a safe environment for people to explore core beliefs, past hurts, and relational patterns that contribute to ongoing struggles. I encourage honest curiosity and self-compassion which helps free people to address the lingering wounds and unmet needs that hinder recovery and inhibit personal growth. My training is trauma-informed and person-centered therapy from a Christian perspective. I work with a variety of issues including depression, fear/anxiety, grief/loss, crisis of faith, complex trauma and spiritual abuse. My training has also equipped me to help pre- and newly married couples strengthen their relational foundation so they can flourish as loving allies.
My training is trauma-informed and person-centered therapy from a faith-based perspective. I work primarily with individuals who are facing depression, fear and anxiety, grief and loss, crisis of faith, complex trauma and spiritual injury or abuse. I love to see people flourish as they recover their own sense of value as image bearers of God and as they discover new ways of engaging with others.
Counseling is a collaborative process so my role is to listen, ask questions, teach new skills, and encourage change. This is serious work, but it also can be fun! Having benefited from the guidance and support of counselors and friends in my life, I now consider it an honor to join others on the journey toward personal growth, wholeness, and inner healing.
βThe curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.β - Carl Jung
