Laura Hamm

Pastoral Counselor, MA of Counseling

We all experience loneliness and hurt in our most important relationships, whether it be in our relationship with our partner, our family, our church, or even our own story. The relationships meant to be the location of our deepest joy are often the places we experience despair and self loathing. Finding hope in these relationships again requires difficult and redemptive work. We cannot do that work alone, we need trusting and hopeful relationships to help us lean in. Laura is deeply empathetic to this experience and can walk with you through the weeds of relational tension towards the hope that we all need.

Laura leans into the interpersonal process, drawing from an integrative knowledge of how people grow and change. This means that her process is informed by both psychological theory and the Biblical story and depends on the relationship formed between counselor and client. She can walk with you through the pains of differentiation and identity formation, family of origin wounds, anxiety and depression, spirituality and spiritual abuse, and difficult life transitions.

Laura has walked with women in various life stages in both clinical and ministry settings. She has worked with young women in college and seminary as they navigate adulthood and has also served women persevering in vulnerable situations through her work in domestic abuse and refugee organizations.
