Josiah Thompson

PLPC, Ma of Counseling

Josiah believes in the need for and power of healing through reconciliation. The universal need for healing particularly struck him while visiting Rwanda, where he met people whose lives were devoted to post-genocide reconciliation. During his time there, Josiah read a memorial sign that continues to influence his counseling—“If you truly knew me and truly knew yourself, you could not do this to me.” Josiah’s approach to counseling begins by assisting each person in knowing themselves truthfully and engaging their own experience so that they may enter into relationships with God and others more fully. While relationships have the potential to bring abundant joy, they often set the stage for brokenness and pain. Josiah has great passion to work with those who are hurting and empower them to encounter healing and reconciliation for themselves.

Josiah is originally from New York and currently resides with his wife in Melbourne, Australia.
