Robyn Crout

LICSW

Sees clients based in Washington

Robyn Crout wholeheartedly wants to help you to work through the trauma you’ve been through – so you can live a fulfilling life, feel mostly hopeful on a daily basis, and have satisfying relationships.

She enjoys working with adult clients helping them become their own best advocate. She believes if you have a caring person by your side, you can reprocess any distressing event causing interference in your mind, body, and spirit. She uses EMDR and faith based counseling influenced by attachment theory to help clients see traumatic or distressing events in a new and different way. She enjoys seeing the hope come back into people’s faces and hearing strength come back into their voices as they reconstruct the meaning of the event in adaptive ways through EMDR therapy.

Robyn has been working as a mental health counselor for children, teens, and adults since 2016. She will take time to form a trusting therapeutic alliance with clients as she works with them to heal trauma symptoms like anxiety, panic, intrusive thoughts, sleep problems, depression, somatic complaints, social anxiety and many more unpleasant pieces of interference.

Robyn was trained as a Lay Counselor in the Presbyterian Church before earning her M.S.W. (Masters of Social Work) from Boise State University. She worked for three years as a mental health counselor in a community mental health clinic, and received EMDR training while there. She is currently working on EMDR certification.

Working in a public mental health clinic, Robyn treated hundreds of women and men with diverse issues including trauma, codependency, and schizophrenia. She ran popular groups in DBT Skills and Codependency Recovery. Robyn opened her private practice in 2020.

She continues to attend regular EMDR trainings and consultations to keep furthering her skills. She is very passionate about helping you learn skills for better mental health and remove trauma’s interference that keeps shadowing your life’s potential.

Before becoming a counselor, Robyn was a newspaper reporter in a small California town, and then she started a business as a marketing copywriter, supporting herself by writing ads and websites for almost 10 years. She was also a stay at home mother and an Army wife for several years. She has two children and two furry family members.
