Phil Kruis is a biblically based and clinically trained pastoral counselor with a passion for helping others overcome recent or past trauma and recovering a sense of hope, health, and purpose in life. As a pastor with 27 years of ministry experience, Phil has counseled men and women, individuals, couples and families with a compassionate heart and a keen sense of commitment to seeing lives changed for the better. Phil has experience counseling those with family of origin issues, depression, anxiety, marital issues, issues of sexuality and gender identity, loss and grief, and shame. He has a particular interest in helping pastors and their wives not just survive the difficulties of ministry life but actually thriving in spite of them. In addition, Phil has extensive experience providing premarital counseling and loves working with young couples. Phil’s approach includes aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems Theory, and integrative Biblical counseling. Phil enjoys the many outdoor activities offered in Southern Arizona including hiking, cycling and long walks with his wife. Phil has three children and three grandchildren.
