Kara Wolf

Pastoral Counselor

With over a decade of combined ministry and counseling experience, Kara Wolf guides the counseling process with a deep belief in the goodness and integration safe relationships bring when people chose to not walk through their pain alone. She considers it an honor to hold a non-judgmental space for clients to name the places of harm in their stories, grieve losses, and reach out for healing. As a Pastoral Counselor, Kara works with individual adults and couples seeking to understand their past and grow emotionally, relationally, and spiritually in the present. Her counseling approach is informed by attachment theory, narrative/story work therapy, psychodynamic therapy, emotionally focused couples therapy, trauma recovery research, and collaborative training in pastoral counseling. Understanding that the counseling process requires courage, Kara invites her clients to the journey with curiosity and a compassionate presence.

Kara has experience working with trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, ministry issues and burnout, spiritual abuse, faith questions and deconstruction, life transitions, premarital and marital concerns, family of origin issues, childhood trauma, PTSD and Complex PTSD, and military related trauma.

After attending graduate school, Kara completed a two year Pastoral Counseling Residency working with the military population through an Army chaplain counseling center. Kara has a passion for working with military members, middle age life stages, ministry leaders, and couples navigating the challenges of communication, boundaries, conflict with in-laws, and emotional intimacy.
