Amie Romero
LPC, MA of Counseling
Sees clients based in MO and internationally
Amie works primarily with women, small kids struggling with big emotions, and teens figuring out their place in the world. She enjoys working in depth with caregivers to give them the support they need to continue helping everyone else thrive. She knows when moms are healthy, families are healthy and is passionate about supporting women to balance the endless tasks and expectations we all face. She is particularly passionate about supporting families that are affected by disabilities and serious medical conditions to flourish despite physical limitations. Amie is honored that her clients bravely choose to share so much of themselves with her and is client centered and present focused in her practice. She is passionate about counseling and firmly believes that her calling is to ‘bind up the brokenhearted’ (Is 61:1) by creating a safe space in session to face life’s darkest moments.
Amie lives in St. Louis where she grew up and has worked for the last 15 years in homelessness prevention programs at Youth In Need, Places for People, and Covenant House Missouri. She has supported families facing overwhelming challenges through implementing evidence based practices and counselor supervision and continues to be amazed at the resilience and hope her clients demonstrate daily. She is a mom, wife, friend, yogi, crafter, and wannabe plant lady.
“To love someone fiercely, to believe in something with your whole heart, to celebrate a fleeting moment in time, to fully engage in a life that doesn’t come with guarantees - these are the risks that involve vulnerability and often pain. But, I’m learning that recognizing and leaning into the discomfort of vulnerability teaches us how to live with joy, gratitude, and grace.” Brene Brown
